Probably my favorite feature about On1 is their "Effects".. Since On1 was designed specifically for photographers, they paid attention to many things photographers were doing in Photoshop usually in a work-around way in Photoshop , and made those adjustments available as effects..
Local adjustments to finish off my photo in On1 Photo RAW On1 has built in luminosity masking, which is so helpful and a feature I wish other programs had.. It works much better than the Photoshop equivalent Quick Selection Tool and worked surprisingly well when I used it to mask out a sky where it met the trees, which would normally be incredibly painful to do in Photoshop.. This is also great if you want to apply small tweaks to your photos, or sort through photos that you'll then refine later on the computer..

Previously Photo Raw had 4 standard modules: Browse, Develop, and Effects modules that worked in Raw with NDE Non Destructive editing and Layers as a separate module that ultimately meant converting your raw file and losing the ability to do non-destructive edits.. As seen in the screen shot above, one can now add image layers without losing non-destructive editing and without having to go to a separate layers module that befuddled many users in the old version..
Keywording has been there but now ON1 has added a list with search box and several options In addition to Photo Raw handling everyday image management and processing tasks it has a few specialized capabilities.. The version will allow you to transfer all your non-destructive raw edits from Lightroom..
A big one for me is renaming filter and image layers without the cumbersome appendages of the filter name which drove me a little crazy in the version.. ON1 has even worked on improving the aesthetics.. ON1 Photo RAW is a professional-grade photo organizer, raw processor, layered editor, and effects app designed to be an all-in-one photography application.. Photo RAW then computes a preview of the stitch surprisingly quickly, in my tests faster than Lightroom or Photoshop..
